Age: 12 months
We live in an attic apartment so our son’s room’s sloping ceilings were a challenge. At its lowest point, it’s only 55cm high (less than 22 inches) so almost a quarter of the floor area is crawl space.
We already had an old IKEA armchair that we just unscrewed the legs off of and covered with a white armchair cover. The armchair is low enough for Gael to get into and out of by himself. Sometimes, he’ll pick a book from the library, set it down on the seat, and kneel in front of the chair or sit on the ottoman while he flips through the pages.
The frames above his library contain animal flash cards that I rotate on a weekly basis.
As for the floor bed, Gael used to sleep in a crib so we just moved his crib mattress onto the rug in the corner.
